Irigation Manager
About the role
As an Irigation Manager, you will oversee the sustainable use of water resources, ensuring efficient and effective irrigation systems for crops or landscapes by developing budgets, schedules, and maintenance plans, while also monitoring water usage and plant health.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement water budgets and irrigation schedules based on soil, climate, plant requirements, and site-specific conditions
- Monitor water usage and adjust schedules as needed to optimize efficiency and conserve water
- Develop and implement a maintenance schedule for the irrigation system, including preventative, scheduled, and emergency repairs
- Identify needed repairs and recommend enhancements to reduce water waste and costs
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, including pumps, sprinkler heads, controllers, and other components
- Monitor water usage, plant health, and irrigation system performance
- Identify and address potential issues with water quality or distribution
- Work with farm managers, facility managers, or other stakeholders to coordinate irrigation activities and address their needs
- Develop and manage budgets for planned and emergency repairs and irrigation system upgrades
- Manage inventory of repair equipment, replacement irrigation components, and other supplies
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably Environmental Engineering, other majors are welcomed to apply, provided they have the required experiences in the same positions or lines of work
- Minimum of 5 years working experience
- Having exposure in plantation industry is a plus
